Over four full days, Andre planned everything superbly and tailored the whole experience around our group. Knowing we had children, he suggested a safari and horse-riding in the vineyard, and flexibly adjusted the itinerary to add a cheetah encounter, a lion park and a seal island cruise, all of which the kids absolutely loved. He was endlessly accommodating and helpful, always thinking about what would work best for both the little ones and the grandparents. We also did the Cape Peninsula loop, which really needs careful time management to fit everything in — and Andre handled the timing and logistics perfectly, so the day flowed without any rush or stress. Beyond the logistics, he shared a wealth of information about every site we visited, along with rich personal stories from his own life in South Africa. We were especially moved by his first-hand memories of witnessing the country's transformation — including seeing Nelson Mandela freed from prison — which brought the history to life in a way no guidebook ever could. My wife and I hired his services for a day I expected to be about 6 hours, to ascend Table Mountain and then experience the South African penguins.
